Customer Care

Modulette decking products are durable and designed to withstand the outdoors year round.  Nevertheless, they still require minimal and easy care.  We highly recommend cleaning your flooring once too twice a year to improve longevity, cleanliness, aesthetics but more importantly, efficient water flow.  The following procedures should be taken with each product:

Natural Wood

  • Detailed vacuuming underneath/on top of each tile
  • Tiles should be cleaned individually instead of removing them all.  This ensures the levelling material is left intact and does not shift dramatically.  Vacuum the surface and the tile itself.
  • Removal of debris caught between slats of the tile
  • By using any tool such as a screwdriver or chisel to access these spaces it is simple to dislodge anything that may get caught between the slats without lifting.
  • Power Washing - This is not necessary but should be considered in the event that your area is commonly exposed to damp conditions that collect fungus. Although the pressure treated tile is covered against this, you may experience issues with water drainage if unattended too and left to accumulate on the surface.

Recycled Plastic

  • Washing and scrubbing of modulette tile surface
  • Any all-purpose cleaners mixed with hot water is recommended
  • An aggressive brush or hard bristled broom will allow you to scrub and disperse a soapy liquid solution for cleaning.  It is important you scrub WITH the embossed grain on the surface of the plastic to thoroughly clean dirt and grime that settles in the relief.
  • The soapy solution can then be mopped up as needed with fresh water.
  • For stubborn stains such as grease drippings from a BBQ, we recommend orange glow cleaner
  • Power Washing
  • This is not necessary but should be considered in the event that your area is commonly exposed to damp conditions that collect fungus.  Although the pressure treated tile is covered against this, you may experience issues with water drainage if unattended too and left to progress on the surface.

Grass

  • Detailed vacuuming underneath each tile
  • Note: Tiles should be cleaned individually instead of removing them all.  This ensures the levelling material is left intact and does not shift dramatically.  Vacuum the surface and underneath of the tile thoroughly.
  • Note: When replacing your grass inserts, make sure the excess nap of one edge overlaps the receding edge of the next grass or modulette tile.  This will give the illusion of a continuous grass texture.
  • Detailed vacuuming of synthetic grass
  • Taking care to use a soft bristled vacuum attachment, any debris or dust that settles in the grass can easily be sucked up.
  • Removal of debris caught between slats of the tile
  • By using any tool such as a screwdriver or chisel to access these spaces it is simple to dislodge anything that may get caught between the slats without lifting.
